BRAZIL has ambitious goals for wind energy. Brazil has launched a new energy expansion plan. At present Brazil has 1.5 GW capacity. But Brazilian government intends to boost installed wind power generation capacity to 11.5 GW by 2020. There are new and exciting investment opportunities for developers and entrepreneurs.

"Everyone's excited and there are hundreds of projects planned," says Jonathan Kendall, founding partner of Rio Energy Consulting - TSS Brazil.

Gamesa, Iberdrola, Vestas and Alstom are going to participate in upcoming auctions that will target on producing at least 6 GW of wind energy by 2015.
